My Process

Jump-Start Your Unit Plan

Follow these steps to start your Unit Plan

Step 1: Standards

What are you supposed to teach? Start with your standards.

Step 2: Big Idea

What is the “Big Idea” (or big ideas) that is behind your standards?

Step 3: Real-World

What are some real-world examples of these concepts? How will I ever use them in real life?

Step 4: Generalizations

Generalizations are statements that show the relationship between two concepts. Generalizations “take thinking to a higher level”.

Step 5: Statement of Inquiry/Objective
